We have now safely received our wirewallart and we are all thrilled with it.

We had a Playgroup for children in our church which sadly we had to close last year. We have purchased  ‘buddies’ to celebrate the 50 wonderful years for which it ran. We plan to mount it on an outside wall together with a plaque.

Thank you for this beautiful piece of art which we feel is so appropriate for us.

From Blogspot.com: A month ago I blogged about not finding the right birthday present for T.  After much research and random surfing, I came across this American artist who does wire art works. Bart Soutendijk is an artist who creates drawings with wire and he took custom orders via his website.

Here is a piece of art from Bart Soutendijk, a local artist. He is donating a piece to a charity auction that my wife runs every year. I saw his stuff and thought that a sculpture featuring cards or suits might be cool. He then showed me this piece. His art is wire wall hangings that are powder coated. This piece is 31 x 55 inches, but he said he could make it in other sizes. The poker theme is kind of subtle, but I think it's cool.

When I read Bart Soutendijk’s description of his wire drawings I knew I wanted to share it. Seems to me that this way of thinking and acting – stripping away the things that don’t convey the uniqueness of our personality or our art – can serve us in making our lives sing as much as making our art sing.

Since I've never seen your work in person, I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to get.  The wire is thicker and stronger than I expected (I don't know one guage from another), and it sits further from the wall than I expected.  I do remember reading something on your site about the shadows created by the wire.  Now i get it.  ;-)  And I really like the powder coating.

It's right below a window.  (may sound like an odd place for it, but the window is high on the wall.  If you're sitting, then this piece is eye level.)

The mural was delivered on Friday – intact and ready to hang.  I followed your lead in terms of the layout and got it up on the wall yesterday (which was a challenge in itself).  The mural transforms the room – I am impressed by your workmanship, and artistic flair and quite satisfied with the purchase – and everybody loves it – especially the “out of the box” aspect of it all.  (I was tempted to have the runners circling the room – all four walls.)  Thank you!

The sculpture arrived today and from what I can see it is fantastic.  I don't want to unwrap it all out of the plastic because I want to protect it until I give it to my husband.

I received the piece a few minutes ago and it looks great.

I got it all mounted, and it looks great. Sage green
probably isn't the best wall color background for it,
but oh well, it still looks good. When i have the
kitchen light on, it casts long sideways shadows, but
that's not a big deal at all. Turn off that light, and
it looks perfect. I can just move it to a different
wall if i was that concerned about it.

I wanted to let you know that the sculpture you did of Basie was a huge hit!  Everyone was amazed, especially my husband.  Attached is a picture of the sculpture in its new home with my husband.

Hi Bart,--I received the sculpture on Tuesday, meant to get back to you sooner but
been so busy at work.  I LOVE IT!!!, It's life size and I can see me in
the sculpture.  Hopefully in the near future I would like to get a
sculpture of my son, he is 6'3 and 15 years old.  Maybe by the time he
graduates high school or sooner.

I received the package this morning and I LOVE the piece. Everyone in the office immediately recognized it as my son, and that’s what makes it fun. It is very personal.  I look forward to hanging it when I get home. My business partner is saying he wants to also do something fun for his house, so I’ll keep you posted.
What’s the best to way hang it? Should I put the nails in the sections where the wire meets the wall?

Beautiful, beautiful....Thank you so much for the wonderful work, it looks just like Miles...I just hope a 16 year old boy can appreciate it.....I know he will like it and later in life he will appreciate it for what it is.....Should be a good conversation piece for his buddies.....Again, thank you
